Hi Fellow Hustlers,
Now that Abe has us up and running with a new website we are trying to make it interesting for you to read - and have decided to run a monthly article (with surprise photos) giving a little history and facts about our members.
For November and our very first article, we are presenting to you Ms. Barbara Frost, who became a Country Hustlers member last year. Barbara actually started taking classes at Sunset Adult School with Ruth Baratta almost two years ago, then shortly after that started classes with me at HARD (along with Abe of course - where one goes, the other is attached!). She quickly became one of my prize students and voila! - is now a die-hard dancer along with many many others. Of course, in the very beginning she was just Barbara Lynne Martin, growing up in Hayward. She lived within an 5-mile radius for about 45 years (uh-oh, too much information here could be age-revealing!!!!), where she attended Tennyson High School. When she was very young, she was called "Lynne Martin" but as she got older, she asked everyone to use "Barbara" -- only because she mother's name was also Barbara. Her family still calls her "Lynne."
As you can see from this photo, Barbara was a cheerleader in high school and was drop-dead gorgeous
(didn't know Abe was into cheerleaders--way to go Abe), She had to be very rambunctious and full of
P and Vinegar, as she is today on the dance floor - at least she has the very SAME smile.
When she is dancing, whether it be in my class or on the dance floor, she is always smiling, and really - on a day
when I'm down or Don't Feel Like Dancing (pardon the pun), all I have to do is look at Barbara, and my whole persona changes.
If you know Barbara and Abe, you know he gives her the floor! And TRUST ME (another pun) she does take the floor! By the way, Barbara does have two children -- Ryan, who is 19 years young, and Courtney, 17 years young, and truly a mama's girl. She is also into Kung Fu--as is Barbara. Barbara actually spent years square dancing, she tried ballroom, didn't like it, but LOVES line dancing - at least as long as it doesn't interfere with her Kung Fu lessons, which she has taken for ten years. You guys out there better look out - she's HOT!
I came across this darling photo of Barbara as a cheerleader one day when I was at their home in Castro Valley, and I thought it was just about the cutest picture I had seen of her, and even though she is only 16 in the photo, it looks exactly like her now!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you enjoy seeing and reading this as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you.
Alice Alice, Who the Hell is Alice?
